The town of Grand Isle has announced that their beaches are open to the public.
“The town and our employees have worked hard to open 12 beach crossovers so that the public can have access to the beach in Grand Isle,” said David Camardelle, Grand Isle Mayor. “A major part of our recovery is making sure that our residents, camp owners and visitors can safely access the beach. We welcome all to come down to enjoy our beach and support our local businesses.”
The following public beach crossovers are accessible to golf cart/ UTVs and most include parking:
Boudreaux Lane
Cranberry Lane
Apple Lane (pedestrian only)
Krantz Lane
Capital Lane
Chighizola Lane
Coulon Rigaud Lane
Post Lane
Landry Lane
Oak Lane
Cypress Lane
Birch Lane
All beach crossovers are marked by signage on Highway 1 and on the beach. We would like to thank the Grand Isle Garden Club for installing the signs.
UTVs and golf carts must purchase a tag from the Grand Isle Police Department, which is located at the Multiplex Building at 1301 LA Highway 1. There is no glass allowed on the beach and dogs must be on a leash. Please remember to pick up your trash and not to litter. More information on Grand Isle at www.townofgrandisle.com.
