Events in Grand Isle

Ready to compete in the Gulf against some of the top anglers in the world? Start off small at one of our many fishing rodeos held almost every weekend or cast your line during the oldest fishing tournament in the United States. Looking for something different? Come celebrate Mardi Gras, Easter, July 4th or Christmas with our small community that knows how to revel in big style.

February 19 – Independent Mardi Gras Parade, Starts corner of Blackberry & Highway 1, 1:00 PM



April 8 – Easter egg hunt, Grand Isle Community Center, 10:30 a.m.

April 9 – Easter Sunrise Service, Artie’s Back Deck , 7:30 a.m. (Sponsored by the GI Community Development Team)

April 14 & 15 – Grand Isle Migratory Bird Celebration & Cultural Weekend, GI High School (One day event this year!)

TBA – Grand Isle Blessing of the Fleet Festival


May 1-2 – Louisiana Gulf Coast Billfish Classic – Hurricane Hole

May 26-28 – Bloody Decks Rodeo, Wakeside Marina

May 27 – Grand Isle Islandwide Garage Sale at the Community Center, 8:00 am to 3:00
pm (Sponsored by the GI Community Development Team)


June 7-10 – Swollfest, Grand Isle Marina (Former Sand Dollar Marina)

June 22-24 – Creole Classic Fishing Rodeo – Bridge Side Marina


July 6, 7, 8 – Blue Boot Rodeo, Grand Isle Marina,

July 16-17 – Island Strong Fest Beach, across from the Grand Isle Community

July 27-29 – Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo, Tarpon Rodeo Pavilion, Grand Isle Marina


August 18-19 – Dufrene’s Rodeo, Bridge Side Marina

August 25-26 – Ride the Bull Kayak Fishing Rodeo, Bridge Side Marina


September 1-2 – 60th Original Grand Isle Redfish Rodeo, Labor Day Weekend,
Bridge Side Marina

September 29-30 – Caminada Redfish Rodeo, Grand Isle Marina


October 6-7 – Ladies Fishing Rodeo Sponsored by the GI Community Development
Team, Bridge Side Marina

October 21 – Hargrove Foundation Fishing Rodeo, Grand Isle Marina, beginning at
6:00 a.m.



December 1 –  Starts our Christmas Tree Lighting and Programs Celebrations
